Regional Data Reports

These data reports provide detailed insights into the air quality data collected over the past year using Clarity monitors. One report compares air quality across all three regions in the Collaborative monitoring network and evaluates patterns in relation to Spare the Air days. The remaining reports focus on individual regions—San Francisco, South San Francisco/San Bruno, and Oakland—and examine broader trends in pollutants over time.

Bay Area-Wide Spare the Air Cross Analysis

This report presents air quality data collected between July and December 2024 from San Francisco, South San Francisco, and Oakland. It compares air quality trends across these regions and against Bay Area Air Quality Management District (BAAQMD) reference stations, using “Spare the Air” days as a benchmark.

South San Francisco and San Bruno Analysis

Rise South City collaborated with six fourth-year Stanford students from the Data Science and Social Systems Capstone Program to produce this report. It analyzes air quality data collected since October 2024 from fourteen monitors installed throughout South San Francisco and San Bruno, with a focus on seasonal PM2.5 trends.

San Francisco Air Quality Summary 2024

This report presents average PM2.5 and NOâ‚‚ levels across select neighborhoods in San Francisco, including Tenderloin, China Town, SOMA, and Bay View Hunter’s Point. The analysis uses data from the eighteen monitors Brightline Defense installed throughout 2024.

San Francisco Black Carbon Analysis 2025

Building on earlier monitoring efforts, this report explores Black Carbon trends across Brightline Defense’s monitoring sites in 2025 and compares these findings to PM2.5 and NOâ‚‚ levels.

East Oakland Air Quality Summary

This report analyzes PM 2.5 data collected from December 2024 to March 2025 using monitors installed across Oakland Unified School District sites. The report is divided into four sections, taking a detailed look at five regions across Oakland, including East Oakland, West Oakland, North Oakland, Downtown, and the Hills.
